  • I am interested in the evolution of animal body plans at different levels, integrating different sources of data. My lab focuses on the evolution of early patterning events in arthropods, as a proxy for understanding the evolution of their overall pattern. Our main lab organism is currently Oncopeltus fasciatus, but we are planning to expand our range of species through collaboration. Recently my lab has developed a bioinformatics angle, through work on the Oncopeltus transcriptome, studies on the evolution of gene families, and involvement in several arthropod genome projects. In addition to my work on arthropod evo-devo, I am also interested in the evolution of myriapods. I have previously worked on developing the centipede Strigamia maritima as a lab organism, and I am now working on the systematics and ecology of the Israeli centipede fauna.
