My work centres on the genetics and genomics of black flies (Diptera: Simuliidae). We are organizing a genome consortium for this family, which will focus on the genomes and transcriptomes of Simulium vittatum (the only lab-colonized black fly) and S. squamosum, a major vector of African Onchocerciasis.
