My group works on the genomics and evolution of protein kinases, and more generally on prediction of accurate gene models and orthology, using comparative genomics. Our interests in this project are to track the evolution of the kinome throughout the arthropoda, with a particular interest in gene loss, and to tentatively see if our gene prediction and orthology methods can contribute to genome-wide and pan-genome annotation.

I did my PhD in Drosophila development (building the tracheal system as a model for branching morphogenesis) and continue a strong interest in insects and their relatives.
