  • My interest is evo-devo and eco-devo in context of large scale patterns across species and within communities. Specifically, I am currently interested in the community response to the invasive species Zaprionus indianus, a competitive superior species that tends to dominate drosophilid communities (up to 90%) by the second year after invading. Basically, how does a community adapt to such a major new player in the community? A second project is related to the evolution of sexual size dimorphism across the drosophilids, a phenomenon that evades direct artificial selection and hence requires novel approaches away from the traditional dogma that sexual selection causes the differences between the sexes.
