i5K Comments for Leptinotarsa decemlineata
The Colorado potato beetle (CPB) is the primary defoliator of potato and also feeds on tomato and eggplant. The CPB is well known for its abilities to rapidly develop resistance to all insecticides used against it. The CPB have served as the chief species for the study of adult diapause. As such the CPB have contributed significantly to our understanding of insect endocrinology, environmental physiology, and evolution of insecticide resistance. Yannick Pauchet
