Host-alternating, gall-forming species, having 1st-instar soldier with moderately aggressive behavior but not morphologically specialized. Comparative study with other social species e.g. Hormaphidinae species may shed light on the evolution of sociality in aphids. This species could also be a phylogenetic key node representing the tribe Pemphigini, as the monophyly of Eriosomatinae has not yet be retrieved. IAGC
