SilkDB (ver 2) is a comprehensive database of genomic data for the domesticated silkworm, Bombyx mori, including genome assembly, gene annotation, chromosomal mapping, orthologous relationships and experiment data, such as microarray expression data, Expressed Sequence Tags (ESTs) and corresponding references.
Currently, SilkDB contains information for 1 organisms:
| Species | Common name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Bombyx mori | Domestic silkworm; mulberry silkworm |
Analysis and Tools:
- BLAST: [BLAST2 with gaps, all versions]
- bl2seq: [BLAST 2 sequences]
- SilkMap [a tool to map protein or nucleotide sequence on silkworm chromosomes]
- Wego [Gene Ontology lookup]
- BmArraymap [Bombyx mori microarray database]
- Clustalw [multiple alignment]
- Cap3 [contig assembly program]
- SMS [The Sequence Manipulation Suite is a collection of JavaScript programs for generating, formatting, and analyzing short DNA and protein sequences. It is commonly used by molecular biologists, for teaching, and for program and algorithm testing.]
- WISE2 [comparisons of protein/DNA sequences]
