I work in the UMR203 INRA INSA-Lyon Biologie Fonctionnelle Insectes et Interactions (BF2I) Laboratory in France since November 2007. I am involved in application and development of genomics technologies to study symbiosis between the pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum) and its symbiont bacteria (Buchnera aphidicola). I am interested in understanding the regulation network behind this interesting metabolic symbiosis. The new knowledge we might acquire on this insect will be useful to develop novel pest control strategies. To empower our research (and that of others) on metabolism, as part of the genome annotation project (Ref.), we developed AcypiCyc: a Cyc metabolism recontruction database for the pea aphid . To implement this database we used CycADS(Ref.): a novel ad hoc annotation management tool we developed as part of the INRIA BAMBOO team research. This project has also been developed in collabotation with Toni Gabaldon group at the the CGR in Barcelona (Spain). CycADS is being used to develop "ArthropodaCyc": a Cyc metabolic database for artrhopods whose genome has been sequenced.
