I am a genome sequencer at the Baylor College of Medicine Human Genome Sequencing Center in Houston TX, headed up by Richard Gibbs. I try to learn about the biology of arthropods (and sometimes humans) using the tools of genome and transcriptome sequencing. I have been involved in many arthropod genome projects, including the first D.melanogaster project, many more Drosophilas, as well as beetles, aphids, wasps, bees, and others. I am currently heading up a i5K pilot project to sequence 50 arthropods to help kickstart the i5K project as a whole.
