Summary Baylor College of Medicine announces that the centipede Strigamia maritima genome was sequenced as part of the Ecdysozoan Comparative Genome Sequencing project. DNA was provided by Michael Akam. Baylor generated 15x coverage using 454 XLR technology, with an additional 30x clone coverage in 3kb and 8kb insert pe sequencing, all generated on the 454 platform. Assembly was performed using the Celera assembler. Small and redundant contigs were omitted from the assembly.
