  • Briefly

I'm a non-model species bioinformatician, interested in a number of Ecological and Evolutionary Genomics projects. I'm currently an OCE PostDoctoral Fellow in Bioinformatics with CSIRO working on the Helicoverpa armigera genome, Heliothine genomics and also dabble in some other insect projects...

My main interest is on using technological innovations to drive non-model species research. This has focused until now on transcriptome sequencing and creating bioinformatic infrastructures. To this end, I made http://insectacentral.org

I'm currently working on the Heliothine genome project(s) with Karl Gordon, on phylogenomics with Lars Jermiin and on the Papilio W chromosome sequencing with Iva Fukova

We're also integrating the tools from the Atlas of Living Australia (http://www.ala.org.au) with molecular databases.
