Issues for discussion
- i5K form has options for community members to include their skills and experience (building a support network). At the moment we do not have a list of terms for skills.
- Do we want to use a controlled vocabulary of limited scope here (akin to the working groups) using broad areas, rather than allow free text
- What is our expectation of such an approach, say in comparison to running a discussion forum?
- Need for site tutorials and guides
- Many aspects of adding data to the site exist only in the head of a few people and so there is a need to simplify and document the How to of the site. I accept that as the sole part-time developer the onus is on me to write these but I would be interested in feedback of what kind of guides the community would like. Suggestions please?
- How to express interest in a species.
- How to add a database/resource page.
- How to update the status of a genome project.
- Newsletter
- Frequency, length and authorship/editors
- Mailing lists & communication
- GNU Mailman v Google groups - any comments, experiences to share?
